More virginia GOLD

On our way home from antiquing, we stopped in Leesburg, VA and scouted out Mama's Apple Pie. It's everything you ever wanted. Adorable old stone building, containing perfectly with little extra space, the most wonderful pie bakery, replete with a plethora of pie options, each one as delicious as its neighbor. And she didn't stop at pies, she makes whoopie pies, cookies, brownies, macaroons, and bread. I chose a single piece of lemon chess pie and since it's not complete to my palate without chocolate, I complemented it with a nut brownie covered in ganache. I was in heaven as I sunk my teeth into each perfect bite.

And Rachel bought a whole banana cream pie, because that's Ken's favorite. So I have tasted two of her pies, and they were both absolutely divine. Too bad Leesburg is so far from California.
