The humidity really makes for beautiful flowers! In these last few days in DC, I have made headway on my list of things to see. I made my way to the DAR museum, after seeing the vastly entertaining exhibit on the government's relationship to the food industry over the years. The DAR museum is not on everyone's must-see list when they come to DC and what a tragedy that is for anyone who appreciates design and american history. It is housed in a most beautiful building just east of the White House and two doors down from the Corcoran, and they have recreated around 20 period rooms, each from different states. I found a number of items I love, and here below are a few of them.
