Monday was the fourth of July, and our commemoration of independence as a nation from the tyrannical rule of the mother land. And I was celebrating truly my freedom. That morning I had received emails from my brother and friends on missions, and I rejoiced in my freedom. We went surfing at Doheny, and I miraculously caught about 10 waves, stood up, and rode them until I couldn't ride them any further. It was a proud moment. Then my Dad and I hit up our classic spot Las Golondrinas, and I went out on a limb and ordered a chile relleno. Solid move. It was one of the tastiest things I'd ever eaten, and with their chips, with that sauce, ooooh. I can't wait to have it again. Apologies for no documentation of this, the only remnant is the lingering memory on my tongue. We then spent the balance of the day at Monarch Bay, and it was a day to be remembered. Look at the color of this water!!!
And I have to share this pic of my little bro Lance, whose hair is rather remarkable, and completely natural.
And the whole day reminded me blatantly that I love California with a passion. This was our view as we ate dinner and hung out until the fireworks.
