In the Zone

There are rare moments in life when the adrenaline flows so strongly you simultaneously feel you could die happy and want to live a fuller-than-ever-before-life. These are not the moments when something brings a genuine smile or you laugh out loud, I am talking intense moments when you feel like a transcendent being. This week, despite having two term papers due, I had TWO of these life changing moments.

The first happened Thursday at Snowbird (big surprise, right?) during our epic morning of powder skiing. There is a run off the cirque on the Gadzoom side, for those of you familiar with my beloved Bird, that catches the powder particularly well. We (Chan, Tay, J-Ham, me) traversed the cirque and then dropped down; you know it's going to be a good run when you have a blast on the traverse. We each picked our lines and the yells of delight weren't far behind. Every single turn was at least knee deep and I got face shot after face shot of pow-pow.  My legs were burning and the stoke level was at least a 12 and I couldn't believe I had just skied that run. At that moment, looking up at my fresh tracks, I was ecstatic. Before I could catch my breath, I turned and kept making tracks. I'm sorry to whomever has never had the experience of skiing knee-deep fresh powder because the words don't do it justice, there is nothing like it. I could literally feel the endorphins pumping through my body. If only there were more things in life that could deliver that insane high, unfortunately they probably aren't legal or healthy.

The next moment happened when we drove up to Logan with a group of people to support Tay at the Utah Chapter of College Republicans where he was running for secretary. After the convention, where Tay was victorious, we danced for a while at the Aggie night dance, and then went with our friend Clay Marshall to a house party west of campus. The living room was cleared out of this little old house, and there were speakers in one corner and a spiral staircase in another, with a guy manually operating the special effects lights. The room was the perfect size to fit our group which included Ske and Chan, and the other people already there. They played 90's music and when Nirvana came on, it reached a climax of epic proportion. Every single person in the room was screaming the lyrics, jumping up and down, fists in the air and stoked. We danced like crazies, Tay and Clay ended up with their shirts off, for about 2hrs. We walked out of that party so excited about Logan and life. The whole night was out of my usual element, I don't usually stay up until 4am but it was the perfect escape from finals and papers and Provo.

I know I usually post with pics but honestly a picture can't describe these moments either. So just try to imagine.

So I am at school - first day of Spring. I thought I had class at 10 am today. It seems like my Physical Science class is only on MWF, so I am available until 1:30. if you want to do anything.
