The Money's in Monaco

Walking into the tiny republic of Monaco felt like walking into a James Bond film. There were thin women wearing shiny dresses and stilettos, fast cars, and a race track set up for the grand prix. There is no income tax for the residents of Monaco, and consequently there are people there who have substantial bank accounts, yachts and awesome cars. We took the train to Monaco for the day after our stay in Nice, it only took about 20min curving around the hilly coast. I was actually disappointed at first because Monaco is new and not so pretty, but then we got up to the castle, there is a view of the harbor from up on the hill
and the aquarium made it all worth it. One of the princes of Monaco was bored and had a passion for oceanlife, so he hired Jacques Gousteau to curate his aquarium.
It is a fantastic aquarium, perched on top of the hill overlooking the ocean. We took advantage of the great backdrop to take some jumping pics.
The Monte Carlo is a beautiful casino, I know that sounds weird, but it's true, and the lineup of exotic cars outside really added to the ambiance.
We ate at the cafe monte carlo right next to the casino and I was introduced to truffle oil on my ravioli and I loved it! I had a feeling I would like truffle oil because truffles are related to mushrooms and those are some of my favorite food. Monaco was definitely worth doing once, the only thing I would go back for is the aquarium.
