I often feel school tries it's very best to eliminate any free time for creativity. I have to fight for shards of time to pursue my creative efforts. It took me weeks to get completely moved into my room and get it all decorated. It took me two weeks just to get to the grocery store. But now I have sectioned parts of my day to include creative outlet, whether that be through decorating, DI trips, or creating culinary delights. I recently made the CPK pizza dough recipe and had two of the girls from DC, Paige and Kristen, over for dinner. I made fresh pesto in the morning and we had a pesto pizza and a barbeque vegetable pizza. I cut some berry branches from the front yard and put them in milk glass vases on my red and white polka dot oilcloth table covering. The pizza hit the spot and we had a delightful evening.
The hardest part about school for me is the balancing act. Each day you approach the problem, how am I going to fit in the gym, social time, class, homework, studying in a 24-hr period?! It's a struggle. Always. Here is some evidence that I have managed to squeeze in a bit of fun in between the endless onslaught of assignments.

Haley that pizza looks amazing! I love the polka dotted table cloth too! Oh so cute!!
ReplyDeleteI feel bad always requesting all your recipes but they are all so good! I want this dough recipe! Oh, I want those bran muffins too!
This pizza was fabulous! Thank you so much for treating us! That was a fun night.
ReplyDeleteAnd i need to look to you as my inspiration to take time to let yourself have some "me" time each day. As for the balancing act...let me know if you figure out the secret. I'd love to know it :)
