Thursday I got up early and made it to the testing center right when it opened at 8am, and I got my portuguese final out of the way, completing my finals for spring term. I felt free. Tina and Brian Jackson and also their daughter Jennie and husband Aaron were in town, so I drove up to Park City to have lunch with them. We ate at El Chubasco. They make a whole slew of fresh salsas, of which you can get as much as you want from the salsa bar. They make a roasted mole salsa that I mixed with a few other green salsas and it was delicious. I got a pork and a chicken tamale, and I enjoyed it all thoroughly. We went back to their comfy hotel room afterward and played some speed scrabble and hung out. Speed scrabble is always entertaining with the Jacksons, while Brian was slaving on his laptop, we made funny comments while trying to come up with ingenious words to use our letters. Aaron proves to be quite the speed scrabble whiz, and my aim is usually to create the longest, most creative words possible. I think my best was paleozoic.
Friday was a brilliant day, sunny and cloudless. So we did what any thinking person would do and we drove to Rock Canyon to hike. We discovered a cave that Sara really wanted to go all the way into, but we kept her to where it dropped off and forked into two menacing pits. Then after our hike, we laid out at the pool. I also went and saw Rio which made me thoroughly miss Brazil and want to visit Rio.
