I missed the development of the story between Taylor and Shelby, because they met in October 2009 and I had left for Brasil in August. Happily, they waited for my return to get married. Two days after I got back from my mission, we had a bridal shower forShebin La Canada, where she really scored on kitchen items, thanks to the impressive generosity of our LC ladies. Here she is with her heavy duty Kitchen Aid mixer, which I confess to coveting just a little.
Then on March 11th, we headed up to Vegas to put on the rehearsal dinner. World travel was the chosen theme
and we decorated the space accordingly,
adorning the tables with a collection of amassed vintage globes, begonias, aqua blue linen tablecloths, and personalized napkins.
The group of around 100 arrived, and we were prepared to receive them, thanks to the copious help of our treasured friends. We ate tortilla soup topped with tomatoes, crumbled tortilla chips and cheddar cheese, strawberry and pecan salad, fresh cornbread with honey butter, and pear and apple crumble with rich vanilla ice cream. Needless to say, nobody left hungry.
For me, it was a special event, being the first reunion with Lance, my little brother, and numerous other friends and family.
I wish I had more pictures but it would be an understatement to say there was a lot going on. We heard charming speeches from my parents, Sheb's, and three friends each of Tay's and Sheb's. We all left feeling excited about their solid relationship.
Saturday found us all at the temple in LV, and Tay and Sheb became one solid Frame family unit. My first sealing. Incredible.
We enjoyed the reception that night with friends and family. More reunions were had. And it was one more evidence to us of how perfectly matched Tay and Sheb are. I am constantly blown away by their transcendent happiness. The two were glowing. And everyone noticed. It's a happy union. I was stoked just to be able to be there.
Great pictures! Way to go LC ladies - that Kitchen Aid is awesome. Best wedding gift ever. My mom gave me hers that she got when she got married, seriously those things last forever. I'm glad you mentioned what was on the menu - the food sounded unreals! Love your handbag at the wedding, it looks like a hydrangea flower!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for Taylor and Shelby! They are darling together. The whole reception looks great. And you look fabulous!! Are you in UT, Hay?!?
ReplyDeleteThinking about you today tearing it up at the Bird! Blessings from the mission, I can't believe that fresh spring storm that rolled in - perfect, perfect, perfect timing for you! From what I hear it's a sunny day today too, so you're skiing fresh powder on a warm sunny day. Doesn't get much better than that. Hope you have fun visiting friends and Lance!
